ICE, ICE baby

ICE-In Case of Emergency. Do you have this number programmed into your cell phone? You should.  There are other numbers you should include as well –to save time and maybe save your life.

I feel naked without my cell phone. I always have it with me, even if I don’t have my wallet.  If something ever happened to me, it would definitely be what I would want someone to find.  That’s why I programmed an ICE number as soon as I heard about them.

While I was pregnant, I also made sure my OB/GYN’s number was labeled clearly so my husband or anyone else would know who to call. Now, I have all of my doc numbers–pediatrician, eye doctor, dentist, chiropractor, etc. I try to label them with what they do rather than who they are to prevent confusion.   It also is a huge time saver when I have to schedule appointments so I don’t have to look up random numbers all the time.

It’s been such a help that I have started adding other numbers like pizza restaurants, movie listings,  and my mechanic.

Lifehacker has a list of 10 other phone contacts you should add such as Google Calendar, Paypal, and Google SMS.  Phones are definitely for more than making calls.

Now if I could just get a new cell phone with a working screen display light . . .
