Real Motion
Forget the Wii mote, now you’re really going to have to move to play.
At this June’s E3 conference Microsoft revealed its newest Xbox accessory, the “Natal” Motion Controller. The controller is a box of sorts that is meant to sit below the TV screen. It supposedly has incredibly detailed body tracking for game play (and can track more than one player at a time). Demo games included an art game and a skateboarding game you control all by yourself.
Word is we won’t see the “Natal” on the market until at least next year, but hey, it gives them time to work any remaining bugs out of the system.
Wii’re in Motion
The Wii continues to revolutionize gaming in its own right. Wii MotionPlus, released at the E3 media briefing is an accessory to that will make any Wiimote motions more accurate. This means that in Wii Bowling you better be very careful how you flick your wrist.
The accessory is a small white block that attaches to the base of the Wiimote in the same port the nunchuck usually fits. With the continued success of the Wii console, and its accessories, it’s nice to see this particular add on go directly back to basics. The original draw of the Nintendo Wii was it’s one of a kind controller and game play, the Wii MotionPlus should simply enhance what we loved so much in the first place.
Wii Have Video
Wii has at last joined the video trend that has swept the video game market. Wii, as the most original of the consoles, has still decided it wouldn’t hurt to hop on this particular band wagon.
Though Xbox and Playstation 3 are still the only consoled to offer DVD playing capabilities soon Nintendo will begin streaming video just like its competitors. Original Wii videos to stream exclusively on the console are planned as part of the project. Consoles can already reach the internet so hopefully video won’t be too hard to add. It certainly can’t hurt the Wii’s already incredible popularity.
