Goodbye waiter, hello smartphone?
Just Enjoy has launched a new program that lets diners browse menus, place orders, and pick up the tab from their mobile device.
According to the company’s co-founder Juan Guevara:”With JUST ENJOY it’s like having a good friend that knows you, facilitates your visit to the restaurant and more importantly stays with you to ensure you enjoy the occasion,” said Guevara. “With JUST ENJOY the customer receives a personalized menu in a fully integrated and easy to use format all from their favorite mobile device.”
Customers can also share their dining preferences, reviews and experiences via a social network platform.
RIght now the company only has Los Angeles area restaurants in its database but expansion is in the works.
I like the idea of paying the bill from my phone rather than having to wait for the check. That would be a nice update! It would also potentially be helpful for people with food allergies b/c you could set your menu selections specifically and wouldn’t have to rely on the waiter to get it right.
Zoom Safer
Driving while texting, emailing or talking on the phone is not only potentially hazardous it is also against the law in an increasing number of states. According to Zoom Safer:
“A recent study by the University of Kansas Transportation Research Institute claims that cell phone users are 5.36 times more likely to get in an accident than undistracted drivers.”
Zoom Safer offers a free software download to help you control what your mobile devices will and won’t do while you drive. The software activates while you are driving (not exactly sure how
) and can block incoming calls and texts according to your preference. It can also send text or messages to selectively notify others where you are.
Other premium options allow for voice-based access to texting, Twitter, emails and more or control options for organizations or parents to set boundaries or limits.
