Gaming for Reality
Video games are all about being up and active now, and that’s exactly what the new Tony Hawk game is striving to do.
Tony Hawk Ride will include a motion sensing skateboard controller for more realistic action in this latest sports game. The board is shaped just like a skateboard without wheels. A more realistic form of what’s already being attempted on Wii Fit games the Tony Hawk board boasts the most detailed controls yet for an action sports game. Forget just leaning back and forth, the board can spin, and you can push off, you can even design how realistic you want your own experience to be.
Bringing reality to the virtual gaming world is all the rage right now and hopefully it’ll stay that way for awhile, because its been working out pretty well so far.
Pick a Flavor
Sony is following Apple’s lead at last (in the handheld department at least).
Sony recently announced the release of its PSP gaming handheld in four new colors (blue, red, yellow, and green). Originally the system was only available in black (just as iPods, back in the day, were only available in white).
Individualization is important, I remember the excitement that ensued when Apple released the original iPod mini, its first foray into a diversified pallet. Options never cease to impress.
Fighting it Out Old School
Video games have come a long way, but there’s something about those old fashioned arcade joystick controllers that can’t be duplicated by a mere Wiimote or Xbox controller.
Thus, there is Street Fighter IV Fightstick. For those unaware of what Street Fighter is, it’s a video game, and it’s exactly the sort of game it sounds like. It’s a good old fashioned one on one fist fight and it’s just as good, if not more fun, than most games out there today.
Street Fighter is old school and classic and thus the Fighstick controller is the perfect addition to any game and console. It’s a controller specifically built for the Street Fighter game with old school joystick and traditional buttons, and it looks totally sweet!
Also coming out this week is the Dominator Joystick for playstation three. Again, a sweet old school joystick set up for the game of your choice (plus blue LED’s for moos lighting). Both are a little expensive, but what price can you put on nostalgia?
